If you’re asking yourself, ‘what is the Golden Circle?’ then the short answer is that it’s a common route between 3 beautiful natural attractions in Iceland; Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall.
After we took the car from BSI Coach Terminal in Reykjavik, we went to the first supermarket to pick up everything we need for the next 2-3 days. The prices are Western-Europe like, not that high as we expected.
There is a saying, if there is bad weather in Iceland, just drive for 10 minutes and there will be a new world.
As we left Reykjavik, it was pouring rain, but 10 minutes will pass and the new worlds would appear.
First stop we did was Kerið , a volcanic crater lake, along the Golden Circle
Next stop was Gaysir, in Geysir National Park.
Next on the list is Gullfoss, a huge and amazing waterfall, but also very crowded.
After these, we continued our trip to Secret Lagoon, a hot water natural bath. On our way there we also met local wildlife 🙂
Arriving at the baths, we enjoyed a peaceful time, sitting in the warm water, not believing our eyes that we are really in Iceland
When we left the baths, the landscape changed again, becoming surreal
We arrived then at Seljalandsfoss, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, which will be our place for the night.
The sunset also caught us here.
Summary:
