We had 8 days to see the most out of the amazing Iceland, so we had to plan it in detail so we don’t skip the “must-see”. And there were plenty of out of this world places, and I will describe them in details, in the posts to follow.

To get there, we used Wizz-Air for Cluj – London Luton, and Luton – Reykjavik with EasyJet. The price for both of us was 555 euros round trip. Other option was direct flight from Budapest to Reykjavik but would have been more expensive for the period we wanted.

Everyone knows that Iceland is one of the most expensive countries, so we decided to do as much as we can so we can limit the costs of everything, without having to limit ourselves from everything.

We knew the distances are long and we had to rent a car, we also knew that the hotels were also expensive, so we decided to rent a campervan.

We rented a Ford Transit Connect, automatic and fully equipped with everything you need for: queen size bed, sleeping bags, blankets, table, chairs, gas stove, cutlery, dishes even a WI-FI modulator.

For the camper and all the facilities, extra driver and insurance we payed around 1200 euros.

We found a list of all supermarkets that came very handy, every 2 days we did our shopping in the supermarkets and we had fresh food with us all the time.

We also had a list of natural baths and pools that helped us plan ahead, what are the must see baths, where we would take a shower etc.

There is also a list of gas stations. We found it very handy, and easy to plan with.

As it was august, the temperatures were between 5 at night and mostly 14 at noon, there was light on the ski from 4am to 11pm.

I will get into detail for each day in the following posts:
